Witham Auctions are proud to provide a friendly and professional auction service to its customers. We hold regular sales of antiques and collectables and broadcast the auction 'live' on the internet so you can watch and bid live from the comfort of your own home, please click on our *Live Auctions Tab * to view past auctions and auction catalogues, and where you can register to bid via our online platform hosts EasyLive. We are open the whole week before an auction so that you can come and see the items in person.
We are pleased to offer an array of services including valuations, probate and house clearance services and on-site auctions, please contact us to discuss your requirements and are happy to assist you with valuations on any items that you may want to place into auction.
We offer in-house packing and postal service for most items and we are also able to offer a full delivery (point to point) service. Please contact us for a quotation.
Auction Dates 2022
We upload our catalogue approximately one week before each auction so please click in the 'live' auctions tab on our website for future auction dates and to view the full catalogue. You can visit the sale room during viewing week week in advance of each auction (closed Thursdays). If you would like attend the saleroom, please contact us to book in advance as entry is strictly by appointment only.
We are fully open and consigning items and would ask that you please contact us via email in the first instance with a brief description of your requirements and provide contact details, so that we can call you to discuss further.
COVID-19
The safety of our clients, employees and customers continue to remain our top priority and in line with Government Guidelines we are fully open. We continue to practice social distance guidelines where possible and have hand sanitizing stations available to use.

Vendors: 16% Commission on the hammer price of each Lot.
Damage & Loss Warranty - Additional 1% of the hammer price (this applies to individual items of gold, silver, jewellery, coins, art and other items that are in excess of £500 in value).
£3.00 per Lot fee for catalogue entry and photography (this applies to sold or unsold Lots).

Please also note that bidding via the-saleroom.com will incur an additional charge of 2%.
ARR may apply to some Lots. The buyer pays an additional 4% on the sale price for works of art selling between 1000 to 50,000 Euros (lesser percentages may apply in higher brackets). This is payable to a living artist or to his or her estate in accordance with European directive 2001/84/EC.
We are prepared to carry out postage and packing, please contact us for quotes. Any high value/specialist items we will refer you to a specialist courier for safe transport and passage.
Telephone bidding is available at the discretion of the auctioneer
Commission bids may be left with the auctioneer indicating the maximum amount to be bid excluding buyer's premium. They will be executed as fairly as possible having regard to the reserve and competing bids. If two buyers submit identical commission bids, the auctioneer will accept the first bid received. Please enquire in advance about our arrangements for the leaving of commission bids by telephone or email.
The Auctioneers are the agents for both the vendors and buyers. All items offered for sale are sold as seen with no guarantee of any kind given or implied unless stated by the auctioneer. Bidding is a contract in auction and failure to pay an account is a criminal offence.
Please make yourself aware of age, condition, origin etc before bidding as the auctioneer cannot be held responsible for descriptions and or accuracy concerning same items.
Make sure you have viewed items to establish your own opinion to age, condition and authenticity.
Purchasers must not remove lots from sale but should seek the assistance of a porter, who upon receipt of sales receipt will hand over the said items.
All persons attending a Sale under the conduct of the Auctioneers - whether at the Sale Room or elsewhere - shall be deemed to be on the land and premises at their own risk and shall have no claim against the Auctioneers or their principals in respect of the cancellation/postponement of a sale or any loss, accident or injury however occasioned.
